Every church/children's group needs a Recruiting Safely policy and Disclosure checks may form a part of this process.

Disclosure Checks (CRB checks) are required for all new staff working with children and/or vulnerable adults and recommended for all volunteers.

Treasure Kids UK recommends that all applicants complete a church application form, references are taken up and Disclosure checks are carried out before the applicant is accepted as a children's worker.

Disclosure Checks are only available through Registered Bodies who act with the applicant and the Criminal Records Bureau. Treasure Kids UK (listed as AOG Children's Department) is a Registered Body with the Criminal Records Bureau.

Treasure Kids UK charges £8 per single volunteer application, £30 for five volunteer applications and £50 per ten volunteer applications. Please note there is an additional charge of £36 for anyone who is not classed as a volunteer; this includes probationary ministers, paid staff and anyone deemed to be gaining some sort of benefit through working with children/vulnerable adults ie. part of a qualification.
